Stage 1 - CKB Interiors, London - Ladypool Cycles, Birmingham
Stage 2 - Ladypool Cycles - Alberbury (Wales) - Ladypool Cycles, Birmingham
Stage 3 - Ladypool Cycles, Birmingham - CKB Interiors
Stage 1 kicks off promptly at 8am from its designated start location, hosted by our generous sponsors CKB Interiors, who will also provide a small breakfast to fuel riders before the adventure begins. Sign-on starts at 6am.
Stages 2 and 3 will start at 7am from Ladypool Cycles, who will once again serve as the key control point. They’ve kindly agreed to securely hold bikes while participants refuel and enjoy a bite to eat at the finish line.
This setup allows for two consecutive nights in Birmingham and the added benefit of a luggageless bike for stage 2. Riders are encouraged to pre-book hotels and consider teaming up with fellow participants to share costs. Of course, bivvying is still a great option for those embracing the full ultra experience.
In our commitment to fostering inclusivity, we've carefully crafted and adjusted some of the typical rules associated with ultra events. An illustration of this is permitting pre-booking of accommodations before the race begins and actively promoting participants to team up with fellow competitors to reduce costs. No obligations, just a shared spirit of camaraderie and affordability.
The rules are designed primarily to promote safety, sportsmanship, self reliance and equality.
Riders must take responsibility for their own route and safety. There is no support whilst out on the road, and certainly no support vehicle or sag wagon. If you scratch, you must let our team know and make your way back to your closest control or your own home. Routes must not be shared prior to the event (other than with your pair).
Riders must start their ride at the designated start points each day at the correct time (8 am on the first stage, 7 am thereafter). You must have your card stamped in order to be included on the results sheet & maintain evidence online of your ride (komoot, strava etc)
Riders must take the mandatory stops. Once you reach the finish each stage, the ride is neutralised. The next stage will start again at 7am, allowing for plenty of rest & recovery.
You must carry a working mobile device for the duration of the journey in case of emergencies.
Beyond the pairs category, all riders must be self-sufficient. No support is allowed beyond what is commercially available to all riders.
Unless riding as a pair, no drafting is allowed.
In the small chance you may ride during the night, all riders must carry both a working front & rear light.
No helmet, no ride
Riders must know & obey local cycling laws.
Riders' times are calculated by adding the elapsed times over the three days. This ensures fairness while maintaining the spirit of ultra-distance cycling—where strategy, endurance, and consistency are key.
Entry fees for the solo category is £40 per rider. Pairs & Unranked categories are priced at £35.
Unfortunately, after February, entry fees are not refundable. They may be transferred however.
Entry fees are due by January 25th. Riders will receive an email confirming their spot after the deadline, with payment information.
Each stage experiences neutralization until the following day at 7 am. Geared towards beginners, we're intent on keeping it just that. If you're capable of effortlessly clocking 600km in one go, this might not be the right event for you.
If you are considering doing the ride in your own format (for example, over two days), you are more than welcome to sign up via the 'unranked' category.
Participation in the race is entirely optional. Many will join to test their personal limits, and we wholeheartedly support that! To secure your name on the scoreboard at the finish, kindly adhere to and respect the rules outlined above.
For those inquiring about participating as a 'group,' we are more than happy to accommodate. However, please note that this will not be recorded as an official finish on the scoreboard.
Yes! Tips will be given prior to the ride.
Yes*
*Riders under the age of 18 must sign up in the pairs category with a guardian over 18.
Most riders last year stayed a little south of Ladypool Cycles, at the Premier Inn. We can't think of a better option! Book early to secure a better price.
Absolutely.
This will be announced after intake - as we are unsure of the response from you all!
Likely to be Male (solo) & Female (solo) + Pairs... We may divide the 'pairs' up some more if needs be.
