Future Flyers Fund
Cycling is the greatest sport in the world, yet so few in our community have embraced it seriously. In 2024, we set out to change that by forming the Gapped Race Team. Against the odds, 15 incredible riders stepped forward, ready to represent and redefine what’s possible. They inspired a new wave of belief.
In 2025, the mission grows bolder, with even more riders joining the cause. But we know there’s still so much work to do. The needle has barely moved, and we recognize that true change starts at the grassroots. Youth investment must be at the core of everything we do.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’re proud to launch the Future Flyers Fund. This initiative gives our Academy riders access to a dedicated pool of funding, allowing them to race without barriers this upcoming season.
We believe this fund will ignite a movement, breaking down financial barriers and giving young riders the chance to step into competitive cycling for the first time. More than just covering race fees, it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and showing our youth that they belong on the start line—and the finish line podiums.
This is more than a fund. It’s the start of a legacy. Let’s change the face of cycling, one race at a time.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Riders must attend Gapped Academy rides at least once per month.
2. Riders who have graduated to City Academies via Gapped Academy are automatically eligible to access the fund.
3. Riders must race in official team kit during funded events.
4. Receipts for race entries must be submitted to junaid@gapped.co.uk, along with pictures of the rider participating in the race.
5. The fund is available for up to 6 races per season per rider, subject to available funding.
6. This fund is open to riders aged up to 16.
7. Applications must be made within 3 months of the race date.
8. The fund may only be used to cover race entry fees, not travel, accommodation, or other associated costs.
Failure to meet the eligibility criteria may result in disqualification from accessing the fund.
